Dr. Joshua Schiffman attended the eight year Program in Liberal Medical Education (undergraduate and medical school) at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island from 1992-2000. He then completed his residency training in Pediatrics at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford from 2000-2003, followed by a year as Chief Resident from 2003-2004. Dr. Schiffman completed his fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine from 2004-2007.
Dr. Schiffman is currently an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Primary Children's MedicalCenter and an Adjunct Investigator at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Schiffman researches the predisposition to and genetic alterations of childhood cancers, with a special interest in leukemia and brain tumors. Dr. Schiffman is the Medical Director of the High Risk Pediatric Cancer Clinic where he cares for children and families with cancer predisposition syndromes.Dr. Schiffman also has a strong interest in adolescent and young adults with cancer and teaching compassion in medicine.
